Well, I have finally made it to the 2nd trimester... Luckily, the sickness ceased around the middle of last week. However, due to an unfortunate sinus infection, I'm still fairly miserable. :-( My energy during the day comes and goes, depending on what time I went to bed the night before. (I usually try for 8:00pm.) Gerald and I go for our next appointment on May 2. (We will be 15 weeks then.) I wish they would reschedule it for the next week, so we could at least possibly try to find out if Baby Davis is a boy or girl... Wishful thinking of course. We are scheduled to find out in June at 19 weeks. Lately, my craving has been CHOCOLATE MILK! I can't seem to get enough of it. Something about it makes me feel better after drinking a glass...Ha! Strange perhaps? My nails and hair are growing like crazy! (Any of you who really know me, know that I keep short nails! I can't stand long ones, and I have already had to clip them several times this past week!) Prenatal vitamins, I suppose.
My belly is beginning to show. (WOOHOO!) It's not huge, or anything, just a little bump. I can still wear my regular jeans and tops, with a few maternity tops mixed in. Once I can get a good picture of it, I will post. We hope everyone has a great week ahead! I have 4 days of work left this week, and then off on our little vacation for the weekend!

10 Weeks/ 4 Days
How far along? 10weeks (and 4 days)
Total weight gain: None that I know of yet
Maternity clothes? Bought a few shirts this week.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: I feel like my sleep has gotten worse, as my pillows I am used to are HORRIBLE now! I toss and turn because I can't seem to get comfortable.
Best moment this week: I have my 2nd appointment on Wednesday, which I'm sure will top anything else this week.
Miss Anything? I miss being on my strict diet before I found out we were expecting. I had really good intentions of losing a great amount of weight this year.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: Nothing major. Dill pickles & banana peppers have been really great!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Grilled food makese me queasy!
Gender: Patiently waiting
Labor Signs: No!
Symptoms: I have still been getting nauseous at certain smells or foods. Getting hot makes me sick feeling too. My sleep habits are crazy! On the weekends, I have been taking 3 hour naps.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Both, I would say. When I have a lot of energy, I'm happy. And vice versa.
Looking forward to: My doctor's appointment Wednesday! :-)

Cravings and Sickness
Whoever coined the term "morning sickness" must have been blind. I have been extremely sick!
Morning, noon, and night. Everything, food wise, that I used to love, suddenly I can't stand the sight or smell of it. Grilled food (steak, chicken, pork); green beans; and crackers are a few that have been set aside. I can eat some dill pickles, catfish, and ice cream though. I've been drinking a lot of water, but it has to be really cold before I can enjoy it. The doctor prescribed Zofran, which has been great, but I'm beginning to think I'm getting immune to it. We are 10 weeks today. Baby Davis is the size of a lime. :)

First Sonogram
March 7, 2012: It's the big day! First prenatal visit. Gerald and I headed to Jackson to the clinic. Of course, he felt a little out of place, as he was the only guy in the waiting room. Finally, we were called back for the sonogram. We were about to see our little "Bugg" for the first time. As the sonogram tech began looking for baby, I just felt an extreme wave of nervousness rush over me. Then we saw what looked like a little butterbean. There on the screen was the life that Gerald and I had created. It was completely amazing. The tech listened for a heartbeat. There was the main sign that we both waited on to prove it was reality. I immediately began to cry. I caught Gerald's attention. He was smiling. Heartbeat was 112. We were told we were 6 weeks and 6 days at this point, with a due date of October 25, 2012.
Just a normal doctor visit...Or so we thought
February 20, 2012: Gerald and I rode to Jackson together for a yearly checkup with my gyno. I suspected I had another ruptured ovarian cyst. During the visit, my doctor said everything was fine, no cyst, but she wanted to do a pregnancy test just in case. (Since I was already 6 days late.) Pregnancy test came back. Negative. My doctor said she would see me back in a year, and she would call me before a week if my pap results were abnormal. Great, I thought. I went back to the parking lot and met Gerald. We went shopping and headed back towards Vicksburg. Two hours later, as I was getting onto the interstate, my cell rang. Doctor's office. Oh no. What in the world could have been wrong. I hestitated but answered. It was my doctor's nurse. Her words were, "Kasey, this is Michelle. I just wanted to inform you that your pregnancy test is now showing a slight positive. I want you to take a home test in 2 days and call us back with the results." I felt my heart come up through my mouth. I burst into tears. Gerald was in the passenger seat and began smiling and congratulating me. Heck, he was the one that should be congratulated. He did it! (LOL) We were extremely excited and could not believe the news! Our world had changed. We told our family and friends two days later. Everyone was extremely excited and couldn't have been more happy for us!
